What is the Kitty Hawk Flyer? Video to discover!

What could the Kitty Hawk Flyer be hiding? It's simple:it's an electric personal aircraft, designed to fly over water, without a pilot's license, in order to learn to fly in just a few minutes. Functioning a little like a drone, except that here the pilot is in the middle of the 8 rotors, the Flyer also has two buoys in the event of a forced landing.

Funded in part by one of the bosses of Google, no doubt we should hear about this startup quite often.

How does it fly?

Well, like a drone, the piloting is relatively easy:lean to the right to go right, to the left to go left, the same for the front and the back, and very smoothly. Does it seem simple to you? It is!

Watch how these folks learn how to use it in the video below:

What use for the Kitty Hawk Flyer?

This personal drone is intended for recreational use primarily. Indeed, with a flight autonomy of 20 minutes and a travel radius of around 24km at 40km/h, it is not intended to become a mode of daily travel. On the other hand, it is designed to fly only over calm water, and, although it is able to fly over open ground, it is therefore not advisable to use it in d other conditions. Its use will likely be limited to wealthy people living near a lake.

What if I want one?

The Flyer is not yet available, however, it is announced for sale for the end of 2017.
The price is not revealed, but, if you subscribe to the Kitty Hawk club ($100 ), you will benefit from a reduction of $2000 on the final sale price. Please note that deliveries will not be guaranteed anywhere in the world, find out before signing the order form.
