Unusual rides on 2 wheels:giropod, segway, electric skateboard, solowheel

Moving around on a Vélib, unfolding your bike or scooter when you get off the train… this is the daily life of the inhabitants and employees of large cities. At a time when technology is constantly developing, companies are creating new and ever faster means of travel every day. , less cumbersome and fun !

The Giropod

Will definitely replace the scooter in a few months! Its name differs from one manufacturer to another but the principle remains the same.

Its electrical system directs itself by inclination of the body. Easy to use (in theory after a few minutes of training you will have a good grip, provided you have the sense of balance ), just fish yourself slightly forward to move forward and backward to move backward.

To turn, the principle remains the same, a small imbalance on the right or the left. This machine can go up to 10km/h . Can be used on the street, at home or even in a nightclub.

The Segway

Ah the segway… to walk around town , discover, and pass in streets prohibited to vehicles, nothing better. Many tourist guides now offer this kind of transport. A short visit to Lyon? try the Segway!

A desire during your holidays to have fun but you don't feel like walking or taking the car? Take the Segway! Self stabilized, it is both silent , handy , and easily portable. Its maximum speed is 20km/h , its capacity of 40km. Simply recharge via a wall socket!

The electric skateboard

20 km range, 30 km/h maximum, this is what the electric skateboard offers us. Gone are the days of simple skateboarding, where you had to gain momentum and know how to stabilize yourself... this skateboard does it for you.

With a remote control , you direct your tool as you wish with a simple pressure on a key. If you accidentally drop the remote control (sometimes we have two left hands) or lose your balance, don't panic, the skate will stop on its own.

Powerful engine, big wheels... you can use it everywhere , even at the beach.

The Solowheel

This one is a bit different from the others. You won't balance on two, but on one wheel . Up to 22 km/h for 20 km of autonomy, usable in all weathers, it is also the most compact and the lightest (11 kgs).

Using very precise gyroscopic sensors that detect any inclination, the motor compensates for the sway by either rotating the wheel (to move forward) or decelerating (to brake) in order to maintain this constant inclination.

And you, which one will you choose?
