Going to the sauna would reduce the risk of stroke by 60%

In France, a person has a stroke every 4 minutes, which is a very alarming figure. But researchers may have found a solution to reduce the number of strokes and it is surprising. An international study by scientists from the universities of Finland, Bristol, Leicester, Atlanta, Cambridge and Innsbruck came to the conclusion that people who go to the sauna 4-7 times a week were 61% less likely to have a stroke.

The benefits of the sauna affect blood pressure and the immune system

Published in the journal Neurology, said study was conducted over a period of 15 years. The subjects studied were 1628 men and women, aged 53 to 74 and living in Finland. They were divided into three distinct groups:those who went to the sauna once a week, those who went 2 to 3 times and those who went 4 to 7 times. The result is clear, the more the frequency increased, the more the risk of stroke decreased! Thus, compared to people doing only one sauna session per week, the risk was reduced by 14% among those who opted for 2 or 3 sessions instead. Even better, these results remained the same when we took into account the classic stroke risk factors (age, gender, BMI, alcohol consumption, practice of physical activity, etc.) and did not differ according to gender!

According to the researchers, this link between time spent in the sauna and stroke is based on the effect of lowering blood pressure. Doing a sauna session stimulates the immune system. This has a positive impact on the autonomic nervous system and thus improves cardiovascular function…

So, what are we waiting for?!
