Food affects mood, it's been proven!

Tell me what you eat, and I'll tell you who you are! An assertion almost possible for researchers at the University of Binghamton (in the United States), according to which food plays an essential role in the mood and mental health of the population. Only then, at each age, a different diet should be adopted to feel good. So, what foods should you eat at what time of life? We are curious!

Meat and fruit

The study published in the journal Nutritional Neuroscience reveals that diet affects the mental health of young adults (18-29 years old) and older adults (30 years and over) differently. According to a questionnaire launched on the internet, scientists have discovered that everyone's diet provides different substances that modify mood. According to them, young adults who consume meat (red or white) more than three times a week are in a better mood. The reason ? Meat provides a high concentration of the neurotransmitters dopamine and serotonin. Add to that a bit of physical exercise and you are sure to be in good spirits! For those over 30, on the other hand, it is the antioxidants (found in fruit, for example) that should be taken into account. The more we consume (while limiting coffee and high glycemic index foods such as cakes and other white flours), the less stressed and/or mentally distressed we feel. Interesting, right?

We now know what to eat to feel on top!
