There are more than 28,000 plants with medicinal properties

There are an immense number of flowers and plants on earth and they all have a role to play. Some are used for pollination and thereby create flowers or fruits, others are edible like oats and nettles and finally, some are used for healing. According to the Kew Gardens Botanical Research Center in London, there are currently 28,187 plants with medicinal properties on our beautiful planet. Since 2016, 1,730 new species of therapeutic plants have been discovered. Among them, Macuna, a climbing plant used in the treatment of Parkinson's disease, or a plant capable of increasing cassava harvests. Yes, miracle plants do exist!

Many people use plants for therapeutic purposes. One of the best known is cannabis, famous for relieving pain or the symptoms of certain diseases such as cancer for example. But other lesser-known plants have medicinal properties, such as betony which calms headaches, dandelion root which facilitates digestion, elderberry which reduces fever or even plantain which speeds up the healing process. . The use of plants for well-being was old fashioned in the early 2000s, passing for grandmother's remedies, but little by little it is coming back into fashion.
