Eating too much sushi can be dangerous

This is information that we already know but that we do not worry about:eating raw fish can be dangerous for your health. And with the ever-increasing consumption of sushi, doctors warn of its harmful effects, in a report published in the British Medical Journal . Indeed, a 32-year-old Portuguese boy was recently hospitalized for severe abdominal pain. But it was not ! After suspecting food poisoning, it was actually a parasite that had lodged in the intestines. This parasite, called anisakis, is a small worm ingested by fish and marine mammals and when the fish is not properly cooked, anisakis can be a source of contamination and thus spread throughout the body, creating intense inflammation in the stomach.

Stay vigilant

Problem:raw fish is the essential ingredient in the preparation of sushi, maki and sashimi. So for all lovers of these typical Japanese dishes who cannot imagine not tasting them every week, the solution remains to remain vigilant and reduce their consumption if possible. However, the studies are conclusive:sushi is attracting more and more Europeans and anisakiasis is a more common disease than is believed in Europe. So if you ever have vomiting, stomach pains or allergic reactions following the consumption of a sushi platter, you go to the doctor without delay!
