Toothbrush:5 good reflexes to adopt

The number of bacteria that lodge between the bristles of a toothbrush is often underestimated. However, there are nearly 10 million! And for good reason, the bathroom is an open door to the proliferation of bacteria. Thus, toothbrushes are not as clean as one might think. But fortunately, we have concocted a little guide for you bringing together the 5 good things to do for better dental hygiene.

1/ Let your toothbrush air dry

Bacteria love wet environments! And we sometimes do it by reflex but drying our toothbrush with a towel is not at all recommended. Why ? The towel used will most certainly be damp and therefore infested with bacteria. So, don't take any risks, let your brush air dry on the dresser or the sink and make sure not to store it in a cupboard!

2/ Renew your toothbrush once cured

After a cold, sore throat or other mild everyday ailments, it is strongly recommended to change your toothbrush. Indeed, when you are sick you inevitably contaminate your brush. Therefore, if the same post-cure is used again, the chances of healing are less. And since we don't want to leave for 38 days of fever under the duvet, we take all the precautions.

3/ Avoid contact between toothbrushes

Yes, it is essential that the toothbrush bristles do not touch each other. Clearly, prefer pots that separate the brushes to those similar to pencil pots (in which all the family toothbrushes are usually kept!). And of course, we take care never to place our toothbrush down... Yes, that also happens to us some mornings!

4/ Clean your brush with baking soda

To ensure that toothbrush bristles are properly washed, baking soda is THE right solution. How to proceed ? We dip our brush in a glass of water diluted with about 10 g of bicarbonate, let it act all night and rinse before use:tadaaaaa! We get a healthy and nickel chrome brush!

5/ Beware of plastic tips that protect the brushes

Placed on the bristles of the brush, these plastic cases are actually only useful when we are on the move because they prevent residue from getting between the bristles. On the other hand, protecting your toothbrush with a plastic tip is of little interest if it stays in a bathroom, because they rather help to promote the emergence of bacteria.

With all these good tips, we are ready for a healthy mouth, right?
