Lifestyle before pregnancy:the French are misinformed

What lifestyle should you have before pregnancy? The French do not seem to have all the cards in hand to be able to answer this question. According to an Odoxa survey for the Grand Forum des Tout-Petits, carried out among 1,008 French people aged 20 to 40, many are lacking in this area.

Diet and physical activity

Thus, only one woman out of 10 makes a pre-conception visit, yet recommended by the High Authority for Health (HAS). When it comes to knowing which habits of everyday life have an impact on the future baby, again, the French are not very informed. They are only 32% to think that a woman should pay attention to what she eats before the conception of the child and 32% also to think that regular physical activity is not necessary before pregnancy.

The impact of the father

The impact of the father's health on that of the future baby is also not really under control. Thus, nearly three out of 10 French people do not know that the father's lifestyle before conception - which includes alcohol, tobacco, but also diet, physical activity or exposure to environmental pollutants - has consequences for the child.

Finally, two thirds of young adults believe that they are not sufficiently informed about the lifestyle to adopt before the conception of the child.
