Cheese has a positive impact on cholesterol

Let's face it, we love to crack from time to time for a small (or a large) cheese board. And if at the moment we revel, we can not help but feel a hint of guilt once the plate is finished. And yet, researchers at the University of Copenhagen have found that cheese, as caloric as it is, would increase the level of good cholesterol in the body, without having a negative effect on LDL cholesterol or waist circumference.

Cheese has a positive impact on health

To reach these conclusions, 139 people were observed for twelve weeks. Weeks during which they were asked to introduce high-calorie cheese into their diet for some, low-calorie products for others and nothing for the latter. Result:among the group that consumed cheese, no change was observed in LDL cholesterol (=bad cholesterol), blood pressure or even waist circumference. On the other hand, their good cholesterol levels had increased. The researchers also indicated that associated with a healthy diet, cheese would reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Well, we can go back to our cheese boards now! But, without abusing it either, huh… Because if over the time of the study the participants did not gain weight, we are not sure that it will be the same in the long term. Good luck!
