Exercising outside in winter:how many layers do you wear?

Even if it's cold outside, that's no excuse not to exercise. It's doable with the right clothes! It is useful to know how many layers of clothing you should wear.

Wear layers

There is no such thing as bad weather, but bad clothing does. Especially in winter, the right sportswear is important for a comfortable workout. The first laps are cold, but after that you quickly train to warm up.

This is how you do it

The solution against the cold is to wear layers, so that you can put on or take off when necessary. A few points to keep in mind:

  • Make sure the base layer keeps you dry. Avoid cotton, this hardly absorbs sweat and therefore keeps you wet.
  • The second layer is a warm layer that insulates your body. Fleece or wool are suitable materials for this.
  • For good insulation, there must be some space between the first and second layer.
  • As a third layer, you can opt for a windbreaker or rain jacket if necessary.
  • You can keep your neck warm with a Buff.
