10 things everyone who does group lessons recognizes

Why is someone standing in your place? Checking yourself in the mirror. Consider not going if there is a 'substitute trainer'... There are many things that everyone who participates in group lessons will probably recognize from this list.

1. You peek inside the lesson that is in progress for your lesson

You're glad you didn't sign up for that. This can be for two reasons:the lesson looks heavy, or very dull.

2. You grab the right dumbells as quickly as possible

Everyone is after the 1.5 kilo dumbells.

3. Upon entering you walk straight to 'your' place

Preferably at the back, while watching others fight for a front row seat. If someone else is already in your place, you find that secretly annoying.

4. If you know that a substitute trainer is coming, consider staying at home

You are not the only one who has thought of that, when you have dragged yourself to class, the room turns out to be a lot emptier than when the regular trainer is teaching.

5. You do your best if the trainer looks your way

When your trainer calls out random instructions such as 'stretching your legs', you immediately feel addressed.

6. In your head you sing along with all the music

Your trainer always chooses catchy songs and a little distraction in the form of a playback show is certainly welcome during the planking.

7. Between the exercises you check yourself in the mirror

You sport to work up a sweat, but in the meantime you want to look a bit good.

8. You secretly watch the other participants of the group lesson

"The new one" is pretty good.

9. You are annoyed by women who only chat and giggle during class

It's not high tea, it's the gym. You would not have expected this attitude from yourself a few years ago…

10. In the place next to the box, the music is way too loud

Aha, that's why you have so much space in that corner next to the box.
