Itching from sweating

It almost seems like you're allergic to exercise or your own sweat. Do you ever suffer from itching during exercise?

The chance that you are allergic to your own sweat is very small. Yet you can get itchy from your own sweat.

1. Check your sportswear
Take a closer look at your sportswear. Are your clothes tight? Is the fabric synthetic? Those two things can make you itchy.

2. Check which beauty products you have used
Have you used perfumed products, such as deodorant, body lotion or perfume? They can mix with your sweat and irritate the skin. Detergent can also be the culprit. Try a non-scented detergent to reduce itching.

3. Drink enough
One of the first symptoms of dehydration can be dry skin. In combination with sweat, this can cause itching.

4. Change after exercise
A yoga legging is great, so you might prefer to hang out in it for another hour. However, that is not always a good idea if you have sweated, especially if you are sensitive to an itch, it is better to change.

5. Read the package leaflet of your medicines
Some drugs have itching as one of the side effects. Therefore, read the package leaflet to find out whether your medication can be the indirect cause of your itching.

In case of severe itching or additional symptoms, you can ask your doctor for advice.
