Yoga Journey:Tao, Tantra &Tea

A yoga clinic with a view of the roofs of the Palace, the Nieuwe Kerk and the Bijenkorf. A special location, but also a special clinic; based on the elements yin and yang and Tantra. In the meantime, enjoy a matching tea blend.

Tao Yin Yoga is based on the Taoist concept of yin and yang, the idea of opposing forces that need each other to be in balance. Yang stands for masculine, change, movement, active and hot. Yin stands for feminine, immobile, stable, passive and cold.

In yoga we mean by yang dynamic yoga forms, in which you move quickly from one pose to another. Yin Yoga, on the other hand, is characterized by a passive style. The yoga poses are practiced from softness, kindness and a lot of patience. Poses are held for minutes to strengthen connective tissue and joints. Yin Yoga is also a training for the mind:holding a pose for minutes is confronting and at the same time deeply relaxing. At Yin Yoga you do not act from willpower, but from letting go.

Tantra
In the western world, we value yang more than yin. Anat, one of the top Dutch yogis, gives you insight into the value of yin to be physically, mentally and emotionally balanced. In doing so, she lets us experience the relationship between Yin Yoga and our chakras - a tradition that stems from Tantra philosophy.

Tea
Especially for this clinic, the first tea sommelier in the Netherlands, health &food inspirator Kasia Vermaire, will compose a tea blend that matches the content of Tao &Tantra.
