Wii speeds up stroke recovery

Playing games on the Wii speeds up the recovery process after a stroke. At least that's what the researchers from St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto conclude.

The researcher asked eleven patients, where the muscle strength in the arms had decreased after a stroke, actively engage with the Wii

After two weeks they could move their arms more easily and faster than patients who played cards or practiced with blocks. In this group there was no improvement in muscle strength. Yet it is still too early to recommend people to play Wii games after a stroke "First, research needs to be done on larger numbers of patients," said one of the researcher Saposnik.
