Active children sleep longer

Children who are active during the day fall asleep better at night. This is shown by an Australian study, which examined the sleeping behavior of more than 500 children of seven years old.

On average, the children fell asleep after 45 minutes, but active children only needed 26 minutes to fall asleep. It also turned out that it is not important what these children do while they are sitting still, watching television turns out to be no worse than reading. The study also showed that the children who fell asleep faster also slept longer.

The researchers recommend that children exercise enough during the day and that they take it easy in the last hour before going to sleep. Being too busy before going to sleep has the opposite effect.
